Session 5A – The Discovery Process

Obtaining key information is a critical aspect of writing a complete and compelling grant proposal.

Session objectives – by the end of the session, you will:

• Improve your ability to conduct effective interview/ as part of the discovery process
• Have a better understanding of the importance of this step in the discovery process
• Demonstrate an ability to ask deep, layered questions to learn about the applicant
• Know what types of questions you need to ask/ information you need to gather to effectively lead the grant preparation process
• Have written a short organizational description that can be used in a grant application
