Lesson Details and Materials

Telling a story is one of the most important ‘jobs’ of the grant writer. The following lesson is all about sharpening your ability to describe your organization, the need for your organization’s work, and its impact. This lesson will take approximately 82 minutes.

Lesson Objectives – by the end of the session, the participants will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of personal stories in the grant writing process
  • Understand when using personal stories is and may not be appropriate/ effective
  • Be able to describe how/where to incorporate personal stories into a grant narrative or other components of a grant application (i.e. letter of support)
